Mr. Richard Sylvester

I earned my B.A. in Creative Writing at U.C. Riverside, where I was without a car and was the only student complaining about why the library closed at 5 P.M. on Friday nights.  In the Spring of 2007, I earned my Single Subject Teaching Credential from San Francisco State University as a student teacher here at Lincoln and eagerly accepted a place in Lincoln’s faculty the following Fall.

I love learning and became a teacher partly because I wanted to share the excitement I gain from learning with others.  I love stories and all the different forms they come in—books, films, television, music.

I also love playing/watching/talking sports, mainly football and basketball.  My Saturday and Sunday afternoons are devoted to the Cal Bears and 49ers.  I’ve been a loyal Warriors fan since they broke apart Run TMC (Stop by TB13 if you want to talk sports).  I spend my summers running a basketball camp with my best friend at Our Lady of the Visitacion School in Visitacion Valley, where I have lived for nearly all of my life.
